Previous events
The Sea Gate by Jane Johnson An intriguing, alternating timeline story about two women with secrets going back to WW2. Set in Cornwall it covers history, suspense and romance. A pleasant, easy read.
Crow Lake by Mary Lawson. This was the first novel written by Canadian author, Mary Lawson, in 2002. We have over the years read two others of her more recent books which we also enjoyed. All beautifully written, based on family life in rural, northern Canada. Very popular author with us all.
The Game of Lies by Claire Mackintosh - A reality Game Show with seven contestants who have a dark side to their lives. This is a thriller based in the Welsh mountains. Detective Constable Ffion Morgan is summoned to untangle the truth.
All About Evie by Matson Taylor - Three years ago we read ‘ The Miseducation of Evie Epworth’ about a Yorkshire teenager in the mid 1960’s. This is the second in the series, which sees Evie ten years later, mid 1970s, living in her own flat in Notting Hill and working in London. Bighearted, funny, uplifting, a touch of romance and a ‘feel good’ book which we all enjoyed. Will there be a third?
